Missions Communicators

Mission Communicators provide a link between the congregation and VMMissions, helping to care for the missional impulses of the congregation by keeping members informed and engaged in mission initiatives.

Each congregation is encouraged to name one person to serve as their Mission Communicator; this person advocates for VMMissions, sharing information and opportunities for service with the congregation.

Opportunities for engaging your congregation:

• Talk to your pastor about the best ways to share mission news with the congregation
• Be in communication with your congregation’s mission/ outreach commission
• Share stories and prayer requests from VMMissions workers
• Connect service minded people in the congregation with opportunities for short-term teams, a tranSend internship or long-term service
• Keep mission information (such as prayer cards) up to date on church bulletin boards or displays
• Promote VMMissions events and worker fundraisers
• Coordinate to have workers on US assignment or VMMissions staff members share in worship
