Anticipating God’s amazing ways

Wow! What a year it has been. A year ago I was busily finishing my last semester of college while preparing for this mission year by accomplishing seemingly endless forms, personality/spiritual tests, interviews and trainings in Pennsylvania. I knew I was being called into missions, but wasn’t exactly sure where, how or when.

May EMU graduation quickly came and went. One thing God has shown me this past year is His continual faithfulness. Within 5 months, I was able to pull together my location in Europe (Kaiserslautern, Germany), my Missionary Support Team (MST) and raise over $30,000 for my assignment. I have been overwhelmed with the spiritual, relational and financial support from literally hundreds of family and friends. I had approximately four months of training that deeply influenced and transformed my inner being, bringing healing in areas of my life I never knew existed.

Since arriving in Kaiserslautern, God has shown His faithfulness by placing me with many German youth who are wonderful friends and language helpers. I have also seen God indescribably work through healing within my body. For the past two years I have had painful and discomforting digestion problems and the past six months had been on a gluten-, dairy- and sugar-free diet. But one month ago at our church retreat, after having our church lay hands on me and pray for healing, God acted. That afternoon I ate normal food and it settled fine! Within two weeks I was able to eat completely normal food. I am still blown away and filled with so much joy over this incredible freedom.

In this next year I anticipate and expect to see God work in amazing ways through my German-speaking ability, relationship building and opening hearts. His love and faithfulness never fails, and His timing is always perfect.
