Kaelin and Brooke are Marketplace workers living at the 264 Old South High Street House that VMMissions manages in Harrisonburg. They sense God’s clear call to focus on college students. Having been JMU students, they are particularly interested in helping Christian students transition to post-college life while continuing to grow as disciples.
Kaelin and Brooke know that while many students are active as Christians through university ministries, many college students are disoriented after graduation and do not find a church connection, and many seem to lose their faith. They also know from their own experience that the local church can have an important role in the lives of college students.
The Thrashers are beginning their ministry by meeting with campus ministry leaders and learning about what God is already doing locally. They plan to open the house to college students by hosting dinners, Bible studies and game nights. Kaelin loves to teach the Bible and Brooke is a Christian counselor.
Their ministry is a partnership with Eastside Church.
