Seth Crissman
Program name: transForm
Serving since: 2015
Vocation: Discipleship Ministries, Formation in Mission
Serving as project director for The Soil and the Seed Project, Seth Crissman is working with a team of writers, musicians, and artists to create resources for families and households to become stronger Christ-forming centers through memorization and reflection on scripture through music, original art and “little liturgies.” Following the Church calendar, the annual cycle of songs and accompanying weekly companion guide are slated to launch at the start of Advent and will be released each month to those who want it.

This work builds on the Seth’s previous work with Kids Club (along with his wife Theresa), having helped churches in the Shenandoah Valley share the Good News with children in their local communities. They expanded Kids Club programs from several congregations to meet wider needs in the community. Kids Club shares the good news found in Jesus Christ, equips congregations to engage their own context as missional communities, and creates a space where folks can learn how to share God’s love to the world.
As local volunteers were trained in an 18-24 month period, partnering congregations increased their competence and ownership of their own Kids Club Ministry. The Crissmans also oversaw and mentored several young adult Kids Club staff during the summer.
