Mission Fund Update

Did you know that over 3 billion people today remain unreached by the gospel? That means they do not have access to a Bible, a church, or even a believer who can tell them about Jesus. Even where the church is present, many people have yet to experience the new life of God’s kingdom.

Jesus sends us to reach them. “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:18-19). For 2000 years, people have heard the gospel and received new life in Christ through the words and example of God’s people.

VMMissions exists to equip the church to continue that great chain of disciples who make disciples. We do that by investing in the spiritual maturity and ministry skills of everyday believers called to share the gospel in word and deed. We call this our model of discipleship multiplication.

Think about it. Who first helped you hear about Jesus? In my case, it was my parents, who themselves had grown up in Christian homes.

For others, it is through new friendships. Rafael Tartari, one of our church planters in Albania, recently shared this story: “A curiosity of our city, Shkoder, is that it is the city of bicycles in Albania! So recently, on a simple bike ride with Gilberto, a young man from church who invited a friend, Jonidi, we had the opportunity to share the plan of salvation. Jonidi is a soldier at a military base in a nearby village. This was his day off, so he not only accepted the invitation for a bike ride, but was touched to hear the Word and accepted Jesus as Savior. Coincidentally, he comes from a Muslim background, and he confessed Jesus in front of a mosque, which was actually at the end of the road where we stopped to rest. Hallelujah! Yes, we believe in our hearts that the gospel is ‘the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes’ (Rom 1:16).”

Thank you for helping us continue the chain of disciples who make disciples with your gifts to our Mission Fund. Funds are still coming in, but so far we have raised 89% of our Mission Fund fiscal year goal of $460,000. The fiscal year ended August 31, 2022. Your gifts will help more people like Jonidi have the opportunity to know and follow Jesus.

With anticipation,
Aaron M. Kauffman
