Prayer Support
Prayer is a fundamental underpinning to all of our work.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Romans 8:26
We see time and time again, in both the Old and New Testament, that God is on a mission to redeem all of creation. And time and time again, we see God inviting His people to take part in this mission, to join in what He is already doing. As people of faith, we often talk of joining in God’s mission. What does that look like in our prayer lives?
As humans, we are limited in our scope of understanding and can only see a sliver of the whole picture. But God is so gracious in promising to never leave us or forsake us. He never expects us to do anything by our own power, but instead invites us into partnership with His Spirit.
So when we pray for those engaged in mission service, and those behind the scenes, we again have the opportunity to be a part of what God is already doing.

PRAYER AS MISSION SEMINAR
VMMissions workers Michael and Ruthy led a seminar focused on engaging prayer as the foremost tool given to us by which to engage in God’s mission and see God’s purposes unfold in our lives and in our world. Held in Harrisonburg, Va., on October 17 and 18, 2020, the socially-distanced event was attended by various VMMissions workers, staff, members of Ministry Support Teams, and community members.
