Andrea will serve in a tranSend assignment in Mannheim, Germany, with VMMissions workers Dave and Rebekka Stutzman.

A Christian service program, Christliche Dienste, will provide the framework and guidance for Andrea’s work while in Germany with Rebekka providing mentoring and supervision at The Villa where Andrea will volunteer. The Villa, a partnership with a local Lutheran congregation, offers a place and welcoming atmosphere each week for deeply rooted German and new North African immigrant communities in the working class neighborhood to gather for food, fellowship, board games and children’s activities.

Andrea will also participate in the rhythms of the Emmaus community, a discipleship community led by the Stutzmans. Andrea studied German at Wheaton College where she graduated this spring. She notes the role that professors there played in encouraging her faith and sharing about their own spiritual growth. Through service at a recovery ministry of her home congregation, Lifebridge Community Church, Dove, Ohio, Andrea was impacted by the testimonies of others whose lives were changed by knowing Jesus.

Last summer she served for a month as an intern with an organization in Berlin, Germany, that provides support for recent immigrants in navigating the legal system.
