Mission Workers
Carl Strite
Program name: transForm
Serving since: 2024
Vocation: Business, Discipleship Ministries, Recovery Ministry
Carl is the owner of Strites Donuts, a well-known fixture in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This business is an expression of Carl’s life; of his devotion to God, as a space for meaningful work and loving daily discipleship, and as a model of integrity in business practices.
Carl has used his business to help several VMMissions workers in fundraising, and has blessed all of the staff and inmates of the local jail through gifts of donuts. Carl’s daughter, Andrea, now oversees the new brick-and-mortar Strites Legendary Donuts shop, and Carl is devoting more time for itinerant evangelism and discipleship.
Using his donut trailer, he travels to fairs, fundraisers, prisons and areas of great need. Carl loves to bring a mix of people with him, both those who are in recovery, and believers with a heart for the places and people in need where Carl ministers.
One of the goals of this Marketplace Worker assignment is to help Carl develop healthy ministry accountability and support structures to undergird and guide his work through resources and relationships that VMMissions offers.
