Program name: transForm

Vocation: Church Planting, Discipleship Ministries, Social Services
Associated Workers Jorge and Ginny serve in Bogotá, Colombia, with South American Mission. The organization they founded and lead, Viva Youth, partners with congregations in children’s ministry and the creating community for young adults exiting the Colombian foster care system.
Ginny graduated with a masters degree in counseling from Eastern Mennonite University in the spring of 2024. She trains churches and families to provide trauma-informed care. They are completing nearly two years in the Harrisonburg community during which they have been actively involved at Mosaic of Grace Church. Matilde and Maia have been members of the SLAQ cohort, a ministry led by VMMissions worker Ken Wettig, and Jorge has served on the SLAQ leadership council for the past year and plans to launch a version of SLAQ with young adults with whom they relate.
The Encisos also were the catalysts and involved in the continuing leadership of a network of house/third space churches in Bogotá and beyond, including groups in Venezuela through immigration connections.
Jorge is Colombian and Ginny is an adult TCK whose parents served in church planting in Colombia in her childhood. She and Jorge met when they worked for the same organization after she had returned to Colombia after college. Through their friendship, Ginny shared with Jorge about God’s grace, a life-changing conversation that later led to marriage.
