Lewis and Ashley’s tranSend internship gives them an opportunity to grow in leadership as local recovery mission workers. They have already been living into Jesus’ new life and learning what it is to be a family on mission, and they have many powerful stories to share about how God has met them, changed them and through them is changing other men and women too! For the last three years, Lewis and Ashley have been learning and serving through Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12-step program.

Lewis and Ashley believe that God wants them to be better prepared so they can help lead others towards real recovery and ultimately towards a whole life laid down for Jesus. Their internship is under a shared partnership led by pastor Margaret Michael (Church of the Nazarene) and VMMissions worker Nathan Carr. The work of our partnership is to build a space of support, encouragement, and accountability, so that during this year, Lewis and Ashley can have a leadership immersion opportunity that exposes them to the various aspects and responsibilities of recovery ministry.

Lewis and Ashley know first-hand about the ravages of the drug abuse epidemic. They are glad to share with you or your church group about what they are learning.
