Raleigh and Opal
Program name: transForm
Serving since: 2015
Vocation: Business, Church Planting, Discipleship Ministries
Raleigh and Opal (names changed) serve with their four children among an indigenous, unreached people group. Together, they facilitate gatherings for fellowship, encouragement and resources sharing among workers from a number of agencies focused on the people group they live among. They also lead a team composed of three long-term single workers and two couples serving under with their primary agency. This group gathers regularly for worship and mutual support.
In the past year they registered a business for cultural exchange, including English instruction through local associations and a guest apartment that they make available to traveling workers and other guests. They have a growing network of warm friendships with neighbors and people around their town, and regularly receive and give hospitality in these relationships. Opal works closely with a teammate in relating to local women through a business, and Raleigh pursues opportunities for visiting with local friends in their home villages. They regularly share stories about Jesus in these interactions and have discipling relationships with several believers who live near their home.
They serve in partnership with Rosedale International.
